Barrel Milling Fixture for M&P Barrels

$45.00

This machining fixture is intended for use by Gunsmiths and Armorers who plan to fit barrels into M&P and M&P M2.0 pistols using a milling machine.
This fixture is only intended for use while cutting the barrel hood length.  To fit the Bottom Fitting Pad, we recommend the barrel be placed atop a set

SKU: APX-A-104-003 Category:

This barrel milling fixture is a dedicated jig for gunsmiths and armorers fitting aftermarket barrels into M&P and M&P M2.0 pistols using a vertical milling machine. It solves the problem of securely holding the barrel upright for precise hood length machining, eliminating barrel rotation or shift during the cut. This fixture is not for manual barrel fitting—it is specifically designed for mill-based hood length adjustment only.

Compatibility

  • Smith & Wesson M&P (Classic/1.0) barrels
  • Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 barrels
  • Not compatible with Shield, Shield Plus, or Compact variants without slide/barrel interchange verification
  • Not intended for bottom fitting pad work—use parallels and vise for that operation

Key Features

  • Secures barrel vertically for repeatable hood length cuts
  • Brass bolt included—prevents barrel marring from steel clamping hardware
  • All necessary mounting hardware included; no additional fixture components required
  • Designed for use with milling machines only; not a hand-file or manual fitting tool
  • Steel or stainless-steel bolts will damage barrel—use only the supplied brass bolt

Install Difficulty: 4/5

Requires access to a vertical milling machine, end mill(s), and basic machining knowledge. Tools needed: milling vise, end mill appropriate for hood length cut, calipers for measurement, and the fixture itself. Not suitable for hand-fitting or bench-only work. Recommended for armorers with mill experience.

FAQ

Can I use this fixture for bottom fitting pad work?

No. This fixture is only for hood length cuts. For bottom pad fitting, place the barrel on parallels in a vise with the top flat surface against the parallels and vise jaws gripping the barrel side walls.

What happens if I use a steel bolt instead of the brass one?

Steel or stainless-steel bolts will leave permanent damage (galling, scratches, or deformation) on the barrel surface. The brass bolt is intentionally softer to prevent this. Do not substitute.

Will this work with aftermarket barrels from other manufacturers?

Compatibility depends on barrel dimensions matching M&P/M&P M2.0 specifications. Test fit in the fixture before machining. The fixture is designed for OEM-spec barrel profiles.

This fixture ships within 1–2 business days. Covered by a limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Returnable within 30 days if unused. For questions on barrel fitting procedures or tool selection, contact our armorer support line.
