This is a direct drop-in replacement recoil assembly for Springfield Hellcat Pro series pistols, designed to replace the factory recoil guide rod and spring unit. The primary problem it solves is the inability to tune recoil spring force on the factory setup. By accepting standard ISMI flat wire recoil springs, this component allows the user to adjust spring rate to match ammunition load, compensator fitment, or slide mass changes. The cycling washer included in the assembly ensures proper function of the ISMI spring within the Hellcat-style slide geometry.

What spring weights are compatible?

This assembly accepts any standard ISMI flat wire recoil spring designed for 9mm pistols of similar slide length. Common tuning range is 11-15 lbs depending on load and setup. Springs are not included.

Will this work with a compensator?

Yes. The ability to swap spring rates makes this assembly suitable for compensated builds. Start with a lighter spring (11-12 lbs) and test function. Verify your comp does not contact the guide rod flange.

Is the guide rod one-piece or two-piece?

Two-piece design. The cap screw retains the spring and cycling washer. Disassembly is possible with a vise via the flats on the flange. The pre-applied thread locker (Vibra-Tite 122) should be reapplied after disassembly.
