This drop-in threaded barrel converts your S&W SD9 or SD9 VE pistol to accept suppressors and compensators without permanent modification or gunsmith fitting. Machined from heat-treated, button-rifled steel barrel blanks with a 1:10” twist rate, it replaces the factory barrel in minutes. The 1/2-28 thread pattern accepts standard 9mm muzzle devices, and the included thread protector with captive O-ring secures the threads when the suppressor is not mounted. The Melonite finish resists corrosion and wear under sustained fire.

Important: If your slide has a Loaded Chamber Indicator, you must either remove the factory LCI block entirely or install the No Profile Loaded Chamber Indicator Block (sold separately). The barrel’s chamber geometry does not accommodate the factory LCI profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this barrel fit the SD40 or SD40 VE?

No. This barrel is chambered in 9mm and is specific to SD9 / SD9 VE frames. The 40-caliber models use a different barrel profile and breech face.

Can I use this barrel with a compensator?

Yes. The 1/2-28 thread pattern is standard for 9mm compensators. Ensure the comp does not contact the slide during cycling. The captive O-ring helps prevent the muzzle device from walking under recoil.

Does this barrel require a suppressor-height front sight?

If mounting a suppressor, yes – the factory sight height will likely be too low to clear the suppressor body. Plan to install suppressor-height sights for co-witness. The barrel itself does not affect sight height.
