This Apex Grade Thread Protector is a direct-fit, low-profile thread protector designed to shield the muzzle threads on your threaded pistol barrel from impact damage, debris, and cross-threading. It solves the common issue of exposed threads becoming damaged during holster wear, storage, or handling. The captured O-ring (pre-installed and retained in the protector when removed) provides consistent, vibration-resistant retention without requiring thread-locking compounds. Available in Bead Blasted (stainless) or Melonite (black) finish.

Compatibility

• Fits any 9mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP threaded pistol barrel with standard 1/2×28 or .578×28 threads (verify thread pitch with your barrel)
• Compatible with Apex threaded barrels for M&P, Glock, SIG Sauer, and other platforms
• Works with aftermarket threaded barrels from other manufacturers using the same thread pitch
• Not for use on .22 LR or .223/5.56 barrels

FAQ

Will this fit my factory threaded barrel?

If your barrel uses standard 1/2×28 (9mm/.40) or .578×28 (.45 ACP) threads, yes. Measure thread pitch with a thread gauge or confirm with your barrel manufacturer. This protector is not compatible with metric threads or reverse-threaded barrels.

Does the O-ring need to be replaced?

The captured O-ring is designed for repeated use. Inspect for cuts, deformation, or hardening after 500+ installations. Replacement O-rings are available separately (size #006, 70 durometer Buna-N).

Can I use this with a suppressor?

Yes. Remove the protector before mounting your suppressor. The O-ring does not interfere with suppressor thread engagement. Reinstall the protector when the suppressor is removed.
