This Reset Assist Mechanism (RAM) is a drop-in replacement sear plunger spring designed to increase the tactile and audible feedback of the trigger reset on Smith & Wesson M&P pistols. The factory reset on the M&P platform can feel vague, particularly under rapid fire or when running a high grip. This component addresses that by increasing the spring force on the sear plunger, producing a more distinct wall and a sharper reset click without altering the trigger pull weight or the factory safety sear engagement. Apex offers two versions: one for pistols with the magazine disconnect safety and one for pistols without. The magazine disconnect version retains full function of that safety mechanism.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this change the trigger pull weight?
No. The RAM only affects the sear plunger spring, which controls the force required to push the sear plunger out of the sear engagement. It does not change the mainspring or trigger bar spring tension, so the pull weight remains factory spec.
Does this work with the M&P Shield Plus?
No. The Shield Plus uses a different sear housing and plunger geometry. This RAM is designed for the original M&P and M&P 2.0 full-frame pistols only.
Can I install this if I don’t have the magazine disconnect?
Yes, but you must order the non-disconnect version of the RAM. Installing the magazine disconnect version into a pistol without the disconnect will prevent the sear housing from seating properly.
