This disassembly fixture is a dedicated armorer’s tool designed to solve the primary difficulty in FN 509 and FNS Compact field stripping: removing the front unlocking block pin. Install Difficulty

Difficulty: 1/5 (tool use only, no permanent modification). Requires a bench vise or extremely solid work surface (concrete floor, heavy workbench over a leg). Tools needed: non-marring hammer or gunsmith’s mallet, 1/8” roll pin punch. Do not use on kitchen tables, countertops, or any surface that flexes under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work if my unlocking block pin is already damaged?

No. If the pin face is peened or mushroomed from prior attempts, this fixture will not correct the problem. You must dress the pin end flat with a file or stone before attempting removal. The fixture aligns the punch — it cannot flatten a damaged pin.

Can I use this on a full-size FNS-9?

No. The frame indexing geometry differs between FNS full-size and FNS Compact. This fixture is designed exclusively for FN 509 and FNS Compact frames.

Does this guarantee I won’t damage my frame?

No. This fixture reduces the risk of frame damage by providing rigid support and correct punch alignment. It does not eliminate the possibility of frame damage, especially if the pin is seized, corroded, or the surface you’re working on is unstable. Use at your own discretion.
